THEY WEREN’T BROTHERS. NONE OF THEM WAS NAMED STATLER. AND THEY NEVER LEFT THE TOWN WHERE IT ALL STARTED.

HE COMPLETED HIS 58TH ALBUM — AND CALLED IT “FINAL TOUCHES,” NEVER REALIZING HOW TRUE IT WOULD BE.

HE SURVIVED A 1999 CRASH THAT STOPPED HIS HEART TWICE — THEN DIED PEACEFULLY IN BED 14 YEARS LATER AT 81.
